Most scholars trace the origins of the Grail legend to either Celtic and Welsh myths, Christian symbolism surrounding the Eucharist, eastern traditions, or a combination of these, and other sources.
It is understood as something or someone that can provide healing powers, immortality, eternal youth, unlimited nourishment. It’s in essence a deep mystery, and the goal of a great quest – in literary, symbolic and philosophical sense – whose completion accords miraculous gifts to those who see the pursuit through to the end.
In this talk we seek to get a little closer to the symbolism and mythology of this legend to understand a bit more about the quest for wisdom which has inspired humanity and is expressed in countless myths.
